There are numerous variety of off the shelf products that can be used, and simple household items that can de recycled

Plastic Containers

Plastic containers make an ideal subject for organizing all sort of stock. My personal favorite is Stowaways by Plano typically use as plastic fishing tackle boxes you probably can find similar boxes in your favorite sport store, or maybe hardware store and some craft stores.  These are perfect organizers, they are configurable and come in different sizes. They are also durable. I have several of these to organize the hardware I have collected over the years

Plastic vegetable trays

Plastic tray from the vegetables make a handy containers bin for scrap wood. I have been collecting for some time scrap wood and found it a waste of time and inconvenient to search just for that right piece of scrap. With the help of my plastic vegetable trays I organized four categories.

This worked well, especially when building, now if I need a small piece of wood, I can search more efficiently by searching in  the bin with  the desired dimensions.

Glass Containers

Glass containers make ideal subject for containing liquid corrosive products.  Spice jars are perfect for smaller items. They are also provide a good container allowing you to see the content.  By screwing the cap along one side of a square wood beam and repeating this on al four sides, you have the making of a rolodex organizer once the beam is fasten on the ends.
