My name is Pierre Lindeman the author of this site.
This page is not intended to inform others on how to, but a simple warning, and a place for me to add foot notes on my findings.
Originally this WEB site was created to share my hobby interest based on concept R/C model airplanes, lifting bodies and Blended Wing Body (BWB) aircrafts to be exact. Now has evolve into other interests, wooden model ships, robots, carving, and photography.
Also I have gathered pointers (links) with resources to help me in my interest. I also had planed to turn this into a hobby store with these specific interest in mind. I am presently opening with my first product the HOBBY BENCH BUDDY a micro-workshop bench for hobbyist, and plan to expand in supplying specialized hobby tools as well.
In the process of building this WEB site I have encounter many compelling articles on how to start a business on the WEB. It is not easy to identify friend from foe on the internet. One can get trapped easily with all these "GET RICH QUICK" scams. I'm not pretending to be an expert in this field, but like most, looking for an honest dependable way to make a comfortable living and set-up my retirement. The way I see it is an investment. I read some time back that the government want you to start a business, matter of fact they encourage it. Become self independent with a business does have benefits, even retire early, if you play it right.
First you have to learn some rules about the internet.

By sign up for subscriptions on the internet using the email you give as a reply. You automatically place your self on a mailing list for other to use. Suggest using an alternate E-mail account.

Do not open any email from strange people or from sources with no " From: " address. Delete it immediately.

Do not browse web sites which profess to give away freebies. There is always a catch there.

Be very careful when accessing Napster like file sources for music or videos.

Install a good antivirus client such as McAfee or Norton, and make sure it is always running and up to date.

Run Ad-Aware as many times as you can. Purchase the retail one if you can afford it.

For a home PC, install XP-Home and make all users a limited user and have one administrative login. A rogue program has a problem installing itself using the limited permissions of a limited user.

Installing firewalls is in most cases useless, as the web programmers are targeting this type of protection and by-passing them like a hot knife through butter. Not to mention that most people have not even a faint idea of how to set up a firewall properly.
The best protection you can give yourself is to be careful where you browse, just as you are careful about walking in strange neighborhoods. Also, be familiar with the general condition of files on your PC and its performance. If you notice a slowdown in performance, try and resolve the issue. Remember what was last done on the PC
