Detailing the decks

Constructing the bow required some work with copper wire for some detailing. In the picture below when enlarged you can see the bow's imperfections of which I spoke earlier. This can be corrected with the use of a RABBET seam.

Fore deck (front) details are added. Fore mast pin rack - Windlass winches - Anchor davit - Deck cleats - are added. Quarter deck (rear deck) details are added Main mast pin rack - Bell cage - Body hatch - Binnacle Stand also ladders have been built and positioned one inside the Body hatch and the other in the main hatch. (not shown) Most of these where supplied from the kit and with some modifications. Main deck - Water barrel - Main hatch & cover - Hull side ladder - Fore mast channel - Main mast channel In this picture you begin to imagine that someone is about to step down the steps and go to the water barrel and get some water. Quarter deck (rear deck) with 18 pound (gun) - Quarter deck guard rod handrail, After building the handrail I read in one of my books that a good way to assemble hand rails is to drill a hole through the rail and post to ensure a true positioning. I don't think this would have worked with this set-up.

When I began adding the guns (jewels I call them) meant that I will be building up the mast soon. I decided to review my books on the topic of masts and rigging. This was a good choice, since I discovered some basic rules to building the Masthead. I will explained later.

All the ship jewels are shining. A pretty site. part of the fun was taking there picture too. I forgot how much patience you need to build one of these ships.

Notice the grating, This was not easy at first because I did not know how. It was not till I began to build the second grill that I discovered how to achieve this. However I consoled my books once more to find what the pros do this. I found simple solution to a complex problem.
